The Kasina x Nike Air Max 1 “Wong Ang - Grey” is a collaboration between the South Korean based outfit and Nike on a collection of colorways of the retro running shoe inspired by Wong Ang—which means the unity of people in the Korean language. The two-shoe collection tells the story of the traditional Korean custom that involves Wong Ang Ducks, a set of carved wooden ducks given to newlywed couples. As for the shoe’s design, a combination of materials rendered in light and dark shades of grey are found on the upper. Specifically, a dark grey faux pony hair textile can be found on the eyelet panel, mid-panel, collar, and heel. The mudguard is constructed in grey hairy suede. The hues of green and blue on the shoe’s upper evoke the duck’s natural surroundings.
